Keep the customers you paid for

Every customer who stays one more month is a customer you don't have to pay to replace. A cancellation is the most honest feedback you'll ever get, and most brands never ask about it. This kit helps you keep the customers you've already paid for, and find out why the others leave.

Ask everyone who leaves

The cheapest research you'll ever do

At Hiya, whenever someone new signed up, a real person texted them to introduce themselves. Not a bot.

Do the same when people leave. One text, one question, and read every answer. Tag each one on the Cancel reasons tab and look at the counts every week. After a month you'll know exactly what to fix first, and it's rarely what you assumed.

From the guide

Make cancelling easy

This sounds backwards for a retention kit. We made cancelling easy on purpose, and we gave a full refund for any reason. When you treat people well, they remember, and a lot of them come back.

Your cancel flow should do two things: find out why someone is leaving, and offer one good alternative that fits their reason. Then let them go. Never hide the button.

What founders say

From founders who've worked with me

We were under $100,000 in monthly revenue when we started and weren't sure we belonged in a conversation with Adam. He treated our numbers with the same seriousness as a $10M brand's.

His fix on contribution margin is the reason we had our first $50,000 day this year.

Anup G., founder
Functional supplement brand · $6M/year

I've paid consultants who took three months to tell me what Adam told me in one call. There's no warm-up. You send him your numbers, he tells you what's broken and what to do first.

Our cash flow improved by just under 25% in less than two weeks. The ROI on that single call made it the best investment I've ever made for my company.
