Starter kit · $49

Pay creators for what they sell

For a lot of consumer brands, creators are now one of the biggest costs after inventory. Most brands still buy them like ads: one post, one payment, move on. This kit helps you pick creators who sell, pay them fairly for what they bring in and keep the ones who work.

Before you reach out

Pick for trust, not audience size

The size of a creator's audience matters a lot less than whether that audience trusts them on your category. At Hiya we ignored vanity numbers like follower counts. We looked for people with real trust in their niche who didn't push ten brands a week, and some of those partnerships ran for three or four years.

Ask five questions before you reach out to anyone. The Vetting tab scores them for each creator, so you can compare them side by side.

Five questions · Before you reach out

  1. Do they talk about your category when nobody's paying them?
  2. How many brands have they promoted in the last 30 days?
  3. Do their comments ask them real questions, or just say "love this"?
  4. Would they use a product like yours after the campaign ends?
  5. Would you trust their recommendation yourself?

From the guide

Running their content as ads is where it pays

Whitelisting means running ads from the creator's account, with their name and face at the top, using your ad budget. Meta calls these partnership ads. TikTok calls them Spark Ads.

For us, running creator content as whitelisted ads worked, and creator videos on our product pages helped conversion too. Test both, and measure them separately.

What founders say

From founders who've worked with me

I've paid consultants who took three months to tell me what Adam told me in one call. There's no warm-up. You send him your numbers, he tells you what's broken and what to do first.

Our cash flow improved by just under 25% in less than two weeks. The ROI on that single call made it the best investment I've ever made for my company.

Bryan, founder
Men's wellness supplement brand · $1.2M/month

We were under $100,000 in monthly revenue when we started and weren't sure we belonged in a conversation with Adam. He treated our numbers with the same seriousness as a $10M brand's.

His fix on contribution margin is the reason we had our first $50,000 day this year.
